NEW FACES IN CJ RACEWAY WINNNER CIRCLE

Wayne Noble, Trent Vrchoticky, Bryan Kammer, and Darren Wilson made their first trips to the winner circle for 2007 at CJ Raceway, while Brian Holmes made a return visit on Friday, May 25, with trophies sponsored by Small Auction & Real Estate. The racing action continues at the CJ Raceway with the return of the Sprint Invaders on Sunday, May 27 along with mod-lites and 4 cylinders.

One lap into the 4 cylinder feature and a caution was out when Billy Stanford rolled his car on the backstretch. Stanford was okay, but the car was done for the night. Numerous cars including Dustin Holliday, Daniel Keltner, Peter Stauffer, and Josh Green made pit stops to repair damage. On the restart Wayne Noble had the point with Bryar Keltner in second, and James Roose in third. Two laps later Keltner went high in turn 4, with Michael Frank II sliding into the second place spot. One lap later Randy Foor made his way around Keltner to take third. Noble goes on to score his first 2007 win with Frank II taking second and Foor third.

Darren Wilson led the flag-to-flag hobby stock/cruiser feature to score his first 2007 feature win in the Cruiser division. Duane Rees held second for the first two laps before Matt Gomez put him back to third, but Rees wasn't done and took the second place spot back at the flag for the white. Wilson takes the win with Rees in second and Gomez in third.

The IMCA stock car feature was off to a slow start with a pile up in turns 3 and 4 sending almost half of the field to the pits for repairs. On the restart Darrin Ealey went over in turns 3 and 4 causing another caution. On the restart Randy Phillips and Cody Layman made up the first row with the rookie Layman quickly taking the lead. However, one lap later Trent Vrchoticky passed Layman in turns 3 and 4 to take the lead. Two laps later Dave Hemsted made his way around Layman also in turns 3 and 4 to take over second. Randy Phillips moved into the third place spot when Layman dropped out of the race on lap 7. Vrchoticky was able to keep the lead from Hemsted who had both pulled away from the rest of the pack. Vrchoticky scores his first feature win with Hemsted in second and Phillips in third.

Bryan Kammer led the flag-to-flag Pepsi late model feature with Stan O'Brien in second and a battle between Jay Chenoweth and Kevin Kile for third. Chenoweth had it for the first lap, but Kile overtook it for eight laps, then back to Chenoweth for the remainder of the race. Kammer took the win, O'Brien took second, and Chenoweth in third. The Pepsi Draw award went to Stan O'Brien with Kurt Kile scoring the Pepsi Hard Charger award.

Jeremy Tompkins and Brian Holmes were out front in the hobby stock feature with Tompkins in the lead looking to threepeat. When on lap 6 going into turn three contact was made between the two, spinning Tompkins out. Tompkins was able to keep going so no caution was thrown, but he lost three spots. Holmes went on to score another feature win, Bill Faler took second, and Doug Eichelberger finished third.

Next week trophies will be sponsored by Kile Motorsports.
